Painting the Human Eye and Oil Painting Tips

1.5-hour real-time video and still images from key points in the video, as well a series of hi-res reference photos, the final painting, and diagram of the anatomy of the eye for artists.

You get to see the painting happen in real-time as well as my palette as I am mixing the colors.

The purpose of this video is to help you gain a better understanding of how to start an oil painting in addition to better understanding the parts and forms of the human eye. The principles discussed are applicable to any painting. I talk about shifting temperatures, how the light affects the chroma of the color, edge control, using Gamsol as your painting medium, and other painting basics.

I also use a "Zorn palette" consisting of white, yellow, red, and black and discuss why it is effective.

I think to get the most out of this video, you should download the video and reference and paint along! The palette and materials are affordable and it will only take 90 minutes at the same pace.

This is a great video if you are getting started in oils and/or want to paint people.
